Guacamole is a party of flavors in your mouth! It starts with squishy avocados that make it all creamy. Then, zingy lime juice gives it a tangy kick. Little pieces of onion and garlic are like flavor sprinkles, and tomato chunks add juiciness and color. Think of cilantro as a fresh, green high-five for your taste buds. And if you like a tiny bit of spiciness, there are pieces of chilli that give it a gentle tickle of heat. All these flavors together make guacamole a tasty fiesta that's cool and creamy, tangy and colorful, and just the right amount of spicy!
Cut the avocados in half, scoop out the fruit discarding the skin and stone. Roughly chop, then mash lightly with a fork to your desired level of chunky or smooth.
3 avocado
Cut the tomato in half scoop out the seeds and discard. Dice and add to the avocado.
1 tomato
Stir in the chilli, onion, cilantro (coriander), lime juice, and hot chilli sauce. Season with salt and cracked black pepper.
2 red chillies, 1 red onion, 1 tablespoon cilantro, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 2 drops hot chilli sauce
Serve immediately, or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours, removing 30 minutes before serving to allow the guacamole to reach room temperature.
Notes
My main tip for Guacamole is that it can be frozen, results in a small loss of texture but still tasty.
